Crowns in a Single Visit

Welcome to the 21st century of dentistry! Dr. Hicks is pleased to offer crowns made with CEREC™, a highly precise computer milling machine that makes crowns right in the office, in one visit. No more temporaries, additional visits, or crowns that don't seem to fit right.

And even though CEREC crowns are convenient and aesthetically desirable, you don't have to give up functionality. These modern restorations dramatically reduce cracking, possibly reducing and therefore reduce the likelihood of needing future root canal treatment. Their custom design and precise fit allow them to be bonded to the tooth with the optimum strength available.

We are pleased to be one of the first in our community to offer crowns made with the CEREC machine. If you have ever had a crown installed the traditional way, we are sure you will notice the difference!

Saving Hopeless Teeth

Teeth with roots that have been damaged or infected used to require extraction, which can cause a lot of problems and should be a last resort. When dental decay reaches the nerve of the tooth (or the tooth has become infected), a simple filling will not be suitable. A root canal can save the tooth by removing the pulp chamber of a tooth and filling it with a filling material.

When dentists started performing root canals, they were quite painful, and the root canal has received a reputation as something to be avoided. However, with modern anesthetics and technologies available in our practice, root canals can be tolerable.

Introducing digital imaging, available at our practice. With digital radiography, an image is taken of your mouth with a digital sensor, and downloaded into our computer, where it is immediately available. This method results in 75% less radiation than conventional x-rays.

No more waiting for images to develop and no more chemical waste to pollute the environment.

Intra-oral Camera

Our office features the Intra-Oral Camera. This amazing device is a miniature video camera that displays a close-up picture of the inside of your mouth. You can see for yourself what works need to be done and which teeth are doing fine.
